Visitor's buoys
To the right of James Town (below the cliffs) are 3 rows of excellently installed mooring buoys for visitors. We are 4th from the right.
The anchorage outside James Town
At the valley mouth, there is a quay and an anchorage in the little bay for local fishing boats.
James Town from the sea
Thursday 28th April and we are here! The ribbon development down the valley is framed by the steep, bare hillsides. Hundreds of years ago, when it was a stop for sailing ships to replenish their water ...
My nest
The pilot berth is at the bottom of the companion way. The place I go to for a nap when I'm off watch. Andrez prefers to sleep in the double berth in the bow.
4 weeks at sea looks like this
Things get a bit messy if you are bouncing around, but this should be the last time we need a clear up. We have 3000 miles under our belt and are now out of the Roaring Forties.
Reaching!
A different point of sail and we love it. The wind is on our side rather than on our nose and Kelper rides up and over the swell like a race horse.
The view of the pilot house from down below.
It is Andrez who goes up fo'ward on most occasions, especially if it is rough or at night. Everything is ready by the door.
