It's all go along the river between Portsmouth and Norfolk. This view from the Norfolk side shows the Naval docks - our marina is way on the other side.
An Unusual View
This is the USS Wisconsin. We visited the Naval Museum but by passed this old girl as we had explored the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown in South Carolina last year.
The Great Great Bridge Bridge!

Pungo - Alligator Canal
And when I said it was straight - I meant straight! Easy route to follow though. This section was lined with pine trees, but it could easily have been wetland.
